Welcome to the UMF Family
Thank you for choosing Uplifting Movement Factory! We are honored to be part of your child's dance journey.
At UMF, our goal is to provide every dancer with a safe, positive, organized, and encouraging environment where they can grow both as dancers and as individuals. Our policies have been thoughtfully created to ensure the best possible experience for every student and family.
By working together and following these guidelines, we can continue building the uplifting community that makes UMF so special.
Our Commitment to Every Child
Every child who walks through our doors deserves to:
❤️ Feel safe.
❤️ Feel welcomed.
❤️ Be treated with kindness and respect.
❤️ Learn in a positive and encouraging environment.
❤️ Build confidence while developing strong dance technique.
❤️ Feel valued exactly as they are.
We ask every dancer, family member, and staff member to help us create this culture every day.
Registration & Tuition
Registration is completed through our online Parent Portal.
Registration is not complete until all required forms and fees have been received.
An annual, non-refundable registration fee is required each season.
Tuition reserves your dancer's place in class and is non-refundable.
Tuition is due on the 1st of each month.
Families wishing to avoid online processing fees are welcome to contact the studio to arrange an alternative payment method before submitting payment.
Summer camps require payment at the time of registration to reserve your child's spot.
Attendance
Consistent attendance is one of the most important factors in a dancer's success.
Regular attendance helps students build confidence, retain choreography, and progress alongside their classmates. If your child will be absent, please notify the studio as soon as possible.
Dress Code
Proper dance attire allows instructors to safely teach technique, body alignment, and proper dance fundamentals.
Students are expected to arrive dressed according to their class dress code with hair secured away from the face unless otherwise instructed.
For complete dress code requirements, please visit our Dress Code page.
Studio Expectations
To help provide the best experience for everyone, we ask all dancers and families to:
Treat everyone with kindness and respect.
Arrive on time and ready for class.
Bring a labeled water bottle.
Keep food, gum, and drinks (other than water) out of the dance rooms.
Follow all instructor directions to help maintain a safe learning environment.
Help us keep our studio clean, welcoming, and positive.
Arrival & Pick-Up
Doors open 5 minutes before the first scheduled class of the day.
Students should be picked up promptly following class.
Children not currently participating in class must remain supervised by a parent or guardian.
Please follow all staff instructions regarding drop-off and pick-up procedures.
Weather & Studio Closures
Weather decisions are typically made by 3:00 PM whenever possible.
Any closures or schedule changes will be communicated through email, DanceStudio-Pro, and the UMF Family Network Facebook group.
Health & Safety
The health and safety of our dancers is always our top priority.
Dance, acrobatics, gymnastics, and fitness activities involve physical movement and carry an inherent risk of injury. By participating in classes, families acknowledge these risks.
Students should remain home when experiencing symptoms of illness.
Families are responsible for maintaining their own medical insurance coverage.
Physical Contact During Class
Dance instruction occasionally requires instructors to use gentle, appropriate physical guidance to demonstrate proper alignment, technique, or body placement.
This contact is always professional, respectful, and used solely for educational and safety purposes.
Students may also participate in choreography or partner work that involves appropriate interaction with classmates.
Photo & Video Release
Photos and videos may be taken during classes, performances, camps, or special events and used for promotional purposes, including social media, our website, and studio marketing.
Families who wish to opt out may do so through their Parent Portal or by contacting the studio.
Thank You
Thank you for trusting Uplifting Movement Factory to be part of your family's journey.
We believe every child deserves a place where they feel safe, supported, challenged, and celebrated. Our greatest hope is that every dancer leaves our studio with not only stronger technique, but greater confidence, lifelong friendships, and the courage to believe in themselves.
Welcome to the UMF Family—we're so glad you're here!
